5 Fall 2019 Trends You Don't Want to Miss

IT’S OCTOBER LADIES!!!!!!! Even though it’s still 90 degrees here in South Carolina, a girl can dream about sweaters and hot Starbucks drinks. For the rest of you northern chicks, fall is in season and there’s no better way to get in the spirit than by going on a shopping spree for all fall trends.
So here’s 5 major fall 2019 trends that you can expect to see in stores.
1. Chunky Black Booties
These are everywhere. And I’m not talking about your typical black bootie. I’m talking about platform, chunky bottomed, street-style looking booties. Pair them with some cute boyfriend jeans, a belt and a colorful sweater. Or you can even use them to go out by exchanging the sweater for a crop top and leather jacket. Prada has some sick ones, but since ya girl’s on a budget, try these ones that I just bought from Forever 21.
2. Barrettes and Hair Accessories
This trend is coming straight outta 2008. You probably don’t even need to rebuy these items because you already have them from your middle school days. Believe it or not, some of these can get pretty expensive. If we’re being honest, you can go to Claire’s and buy a bunch of this stuff for super cheap. But I just couldn’t bring myself to step foot in there without being triggered. So instead, I went into Urban Outfitters and Free People and found some cute items for decent prices. Whether it’s a beret, a hair scarf, or a chunky headband, make sure to get on this trend.
3. Statement Hats
Going along with the hair accessories: HATS. All types of hats. It’s time to bring out your inner basic coachella girl and buy a damn fedora. This past weekend I looked everywhere for the perfect one but just couldn’t find it. So if you see any, LMK. I did however buy this cute hat from Forever 21, which also gives me 2008 vibes but at this point I'm just embracing it. Oh also, if you can rock a beret then rock a beret. Unfortunately I can not, but they are all over stores. Needless to say, buy a hat.
4. Neon/Colorful Sweaters
To answer your question, no, we did not leave the neon trend in the summer. It is following us into fall, but this time in sweater version. Now, I can’t lie. I didn’t love the neon summer trend. Sue me. But I gotta say, these bright colored sweaters and long sleeves are growing on me. I found an adorable one at Free People but obviously it’s a little pricey. So here’s another option too for you bargain shoppers out there.
5. Checkers and Plaid
Plaid and checkered print are making their rounds once again. I feel like this trend usually comes back in the fall. But this time, it’s more than just your typical flannel. Try plaid or checkered skirts, jackets, blazers, etc. I’m pretty sure plaid boots are now a thing too. It’s 2019 ladies, everything goes I guess.
And if you’re not a fashion icon, don’t worry. The best part about fall is that it’s completely acceptable to throw on an old hoodie, some ratty leggings and call it a day.
