Outside on the Quad - F
Studying outside always sounds like a good idea until you actually try it. First of all, good luck focusing while everyone you know is walking past you. I can’t even explain how many small talk convos you’re going to have if you’re out on the quad for more than 15 minutes. Also, bugs. Have fun fishing them out of your notebooks and hair the entire
time.
In The Student Center - D
So you’ve cut out all the distractions of the great outdoors, except for the mass amount of people that come through the student center daily. If you study here, you’re guaranteed to see your sketchy freshman year roommate, the girl you only talk to in class who you don’t know if you should say hi to, and that guy you went home with last weekend that you “forgot” to Venmo back for the Uber. This setting might cause more stress than whatever test you’re studying for.
With Friends In A Study Room - C
A majority of the time in a study room will be spent saying, “oh my god, shut up!” to your friends that won’t stop giggling at their phones. You’ll leave the room feeling like you’ve studied, but you probably were just showing each other memes for an hour. God bless all the fallen soldiers that book study rooms in advance thinking they’ll be able to concentrate in an actual closet with their closest friends.
At Home Or In Your Dorm - B
Finally, some sweet peace and quiet in your own room, as long as you can tune out your crazy roommates who are probably screaming at the top of their lungs in the common room. “Why do roommates love to scream so much?” is something I often ask myself during the rare times I try to study at home. I hope for your sake you have some noise cancelling headphones.
On The Top Floor of The Library - A
Don’t even dare to make a sound if you venture up to the top floor of the lib. If you’re sick and sneezing every five seconds, come prepared to receive death stares from the health science majors. The library is the best spot to study on campus if you can handle the cold silence of people who currently hate their lives.
